Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Togami is fairly tall for his age, and fairly underweight for his height. Out of the male cast of both main games, he has the second-lowest BMI, beat only by Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. He's very lanky. ② How old is he? Ages in Dangan Ronpa are weird, but at his current canonpoint, probably around 21 to 22. ③ Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well, or does he slouch? He carries himself very well, maintaining a perfect posture at all times. He has an intimidating presence because of this. ④ How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He has no physical ailments that have been mentioned in canon, though his sleeping and eating schedule is nothing short of a disaster. ⑤ How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? While he does move with some grace, he can come off as being tense and rigid when not in movement: he has very few physical tics that show emotion, and if not for the occasional blink, he could pass for a statue. ⑥ How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? Very: this is noted by serial killer Genocider Syo, who remarks that Byakuya fits her type of pretty young men. I mean, come on. He's voiced by Ishida Akira. He's bound to be gorgeous. ⑦ Describe his complexion: dark, light, clear, scarred? Very light and clear; it's implied that he's at least half-European. ⑧ Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Byakuya has straight blonde hair that's more or less of medium length, save for a few shorter pieces that are uneven with the rest of the haircut. He cut it himself as a child, so...that's likely a contributing factor. ⑨ What color are his eyes? Blue and dreamy. ⑩ Does the character have any other noteworthy features? He wears glasses: white frames that are open at the top, in an inverse of Rimlon-style glasses. ⑪ What are his chief tension centers? ANSWER. ⑫ What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Togami is shown exclusively in tailored suits throughout the series, though he gets a slightly different tie from the main game to Another Episode and then DR3. He's easily the sharpest dresser in the first game. ⑬ Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? In an artbook comment, it's noted that his clothes are tailored due to his unusual stature. ⑭ Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? Togami is rarely shown out of uniform, but when he's not wearing a suit, his wardrobe varies greatly: tuxedos, makeshift towel loincloths, sleek winter coats, and nun habits all make an appearance. It's worth noting that his imposter wears a nearly identical outfit to his in-game suit, with the only difference being the color changed from black to white. ⑮ You knew it was coming: what kind of underwear does he wear, if any? In the main game, it's briefs with his family crest printed right on the crotch. In DR3, he thankfully removes that latter detail. Also, he'll gladly accept a gift of a thong from the Monomachine, so...that's a thing. He's got some interesting fashion tastes. >> top SPEECH ① What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? He has a voice in the medium register, and speaks very clearly at all times, often talking louder to prove a point. He is very good at using his tone effectively to intimidate people. ② How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? He talks with extreme, and sometimes unwarranted, confidence. He only clams up on a few occasions, and even then, he manages to pull himself back together quickly. ③ Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? He does not use honorifics for anyone else, the exception being a singular "Naegi-kun" in Hope Arc. ④ What language(s) does he speak and with how much fluency? Togami is shown to know Japanese, French, and Czech, but it can also be inferred that he has some familiarity with Russian and possibly English, the latter simply due to his background in international trading. ⑤ Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Czech is used to prove a point when he is in Prague, though he rarely uses anything other than Japanese unless he has to. ⑥ Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? He is very good at coming up with ideas on the fly, making him a useful asset in class trials. He rarely ever has to hesitate. ⑦ Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? One of the few things consistent about Togami's characterization is his eloquence: it's unusual for him to devolve into a more crude dialect, and he never does.
